A Twisted Weekend

I spent my weekend working on my graduate studies and watching South Park. Only a few episodes left to complete all missed episodes.

I made my mind with help of my advisers and decided to study on Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Semantic Networks and made a three phase plan. First phase is supposed to finish in three weeks time. That’s why I spent most of my weekend implementing a p2p network using twisted networking framework.

It is an implementation of simple client-client p2p network which is designed to work in local networks and doesn’t support file transfer protocol at the moment. So, it is the simplest p2p network that each peer can discover and talk each other for specific tasks. It is planned to accomplish basic p2p operations to test our main semantic application.

Now, next step is to add some semantics to this p2p network, so, I’ll be working on NLTK (NLP, Natural Language Toolkit) for two weeks.

PS: Twisted GUI integration easier then cli (command line interface). Strange, isn’t it?

A South Park Speech

Chef: “Hi Children”
Children: “Hi Chef”
Chef: “How are you today?”
Children: “Bad”
Chef: “Why bad?”
Almost, every episode this speech is done between children (Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny) and Chef, it is kind a quote. In general, this speech goes on with a love song sung by Chef. It is one of the things that I really like in South Park 🙂

I need a South Park special section in my blog.

I’m usually blogging about Semantic Web or South Park. Main reason is it is about real life so what makes South Park to be my favorite TV Show all time. I’ve started watching South Park from begging, it takes time but it’s worth. So far I’ve completed 5 seasons and my favorite episodes (ordered in time) are:

  1. Season 2 Episode 3 “Chickenlover”
  2. Season 4 Episode 12 “4th Grade”
  3. Season 5 Episode 1 “Scott Tenorman Must Die”
  4. Season 5 Episode 13 “Kenny Dies”

These are funny among seasons 1- 5 but not my best ones, I’ll share them soon …

Friday Nights

You can’t imagine how I love the weekends. It doesn’t mean I dislike working,it means I like dislike the ways tasks done in these days. Everything is in the air, nothing is written, no rules, and everyone acts what he/she likes … This post is about how I spend my weekends.

I usually leave work as soon as I can in Fridays. I usually spend my weekend at home in winter else I try to stay out at least one day for outdoor activities. I like working on new things, technologies … etc. so, I spend my time reading papers or working on new technologies if I’m at home. I can’t do it at my current work. People around me worry about the new technologies if they cannot understand or handle it. I like to challenge myself…

Today, planning to home and watch TV shows or previous series of South Park. Saturday is my research day. I’m going to write down things in my mind for a long time. Actually, it will be a draft for the research subjects I’ll work on. Sunday is going to be a housework day, a little housekeeping.

Then, It is Monday again …

About Eric T. Cartman

I can say that South Park is the best TV Show I have ever seen. And, Eric T. Cartman is the most funnies character in the series. Surprised when I read about Cartman’s personality in Wikipedia. Is it possible to some like him can exist in real life? Briefly, Eric T. Cartman:

Eric Cartman is often spoiled, foul-mouthed, sadistic, ill-tempered, insensitive, racist, antisemitic, sociopathic, greedy, loudmouthed, lazy, fat (he believes that he is not fat, but big-boned), wildly insecure, bigoted, and manipulative. He is portrayed as having a general lack of moral responsibility or social conscience. He despises Kyle because of his Jewish background and will make fun of him about being Jewish. Though he hates Kyle, he will socialize with him along with Stan and Kenny. Cartman has a habit of bullying and teasing all of his friends; Kyle is the most threatened and teased by Cartman during most episodes.

Sometimes Cartman acts differently around the other boys, even stating that Kenny is his best friend and he is okay with Stan, but later goes back to annoying everyone.
