There are many reasons why I don’t pay for apple. One of the key point is Steve Jobs’ strategy on apple. He thinks he can produce pure apple products by hiding them from third party applications. He says;

“You don’t want your phone to be an open platform, You need it to work when you need it to work. Cingular doesn’t want to see their West Coast network go down because some application messed up.”
Steve Jobs, Interview, January 2007

So, IS it the reason why apple doesn’t launch J2ME on iPhone?. There are millions of phones running J2ME and it is still fine. May be Steve Jobs (personally) doesn’t like java !!!

“Java’s not worth building in. Nobody uses Java anymore. It’s this big heavyweight ball and chain.”
Steve Jobs, Interview, January 2007

No, I don’t think so, everybody is using java and it is growing exponentially. It is the ever made platform independent application development environment.

If Steve Jobs doesn’t change his mind apple will still stay %3 in the market

I have been working on JEE platform for 2 years as a professional. I like java and java related platforms but I really miss developing native applications on dark black linux terminals. I wish I have a chance to work on embedded devices as a professional. Nowadays being mobile is important as a result mobile devices are becoming more popular, most of these devices are based on linux firmwares. I recently discovered rockbox, it seems cool but I haven’t tested it yet. My iPod (nano classic) is a gift from one of my Apple fun friend, I don’t want to brake it. But somehow I feel I will find myself dealing with embedded platforms.

Android is a software stack for mobile devices powered by Google. Its again Google. I was expecting Apple to announce open source application development platform for mobile devices to develop iPod, iPhone … etc. applications. Steve Jobs should make something useful instead blaming Google being search monopoly.

Google launched Android Developer Challenge which will provide 10$ million. I would like to attend it but I have lack of smart people who can code with me.
