Microsoft announced next generation Windows Mobile at MWC in Barcelona. We don’t have much information about the product (just something new in UI) but there is a buzz around and here is the best user reactions to Windows Phone 7 Series.

Horriable interface with too much animation. Animation is the first and last crutch for designers who can’t design a usable interface.

Nothing to see here. More of the same, Microsoft collapsing under its own internal incompetent congestion. Innovation? These guys have no freaking CLUE what that is.

I’m just glad I don’t have any Microsoft stock.

Worst product name ever.

First Impressions on Istanbul Guide

A few days ago Apple approved my iPhone Application and Istanbul Guide is available to download for free on App Store since 14 January 2010. So far, feedbacks are positive and I’ve decided to go on and improve it, actually I’m going to put the things that I have removed and also, implement some new features.

The first app is developed to learn about platform and the application approval process which was a real pain. I’m hopping the next time, it will be easier to publish an app on app store.

I want to share some data about the app, despite it has been online for 6 days, the application is downloaded almost 1K, yes, almost 1000 times. Most of the downloads come from Turkey and followed by european countries like Denmark, Netherlands and those are followed by the US.

I want to thank everyone who downloaded the app.

Augmented Reality

By definition

Augmented reality (AR) is a term for a live direct or indirect view of a physical real-world environment whose elements are merged with (or augmented by) virtual computer-generated imagery – creating a mixed reality.

I have already selected some AR research topics that would be useful for educating kids or making life easier for disabled people. Planning to discuss this issue with my adviser tomorrow, If he agrees what I’m thinking that’d be great.
